The Old Salt House is situated on the peaceful and beautiful Nantes-Brest Canal in the village of Port Launay, just 2 km from Chateaulin, Finistère, Brittany.
All our guest rooms overlook the quiet canal with its busy wildlife and a few boats. We have a fourth generation patisserie next door and a small bar is 3 minutes walk in the village square. The Salt House is situated close to picturesque town of Châteaulin (hypermarket, bars/restaurants etc), National Parc Armorique and the many beautiful local beaches on the bay of Douarnenez.

"If it's beaches you like, then you can choose one a day for a fortnight and still not have seen them all. The nearest is Pentrez with a 5 kilometre flat sandy beach plus shops and cafes. St-Anne-la-Palud has one bar in the middle of 2km of sand and a Michelin starred restaurant at the southern end."
"If you like the South West Coast path or the Pembrokeshire Coast path in the UK, the coastal paths near Port Launay equal or surpass their British cousins. Don't miss Pointe de Dinan on the Crozon peninsula."
"Rated one of the best aquaria in the world, this is a good family day out 30 minutes away"
"The medieval town of Quimper has ancient buildings, including its imposing cathedral, modern shops and a variety of art galleries and museums. You can take a boat trip down the River Odet or even the TGV to Paris for a short break!"
